Free Legal Services For Those Affected By Oil Disaster
The Mississippi Center for Justice has received a $1.9M grant from the Gulf Coast Claims Facility to offer free legal services to those affected by the BP oil disaster. Oil claimants in 5 states--Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida--may use a newly established network of nonprofit civil legal services to obtain legal assistance with potential claims. Participating attorneys will advise on matters concerning required documentation, settlement offers and other related issues. All legal services are independent of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility.
The new legal network is particularly interested in assisting low-income claimants who may not be able to afford an attorney under ordinary circumstances.
Please visit the Mississippi Center for Justice for contact information listed by state.
