This brief profile of Louisiana Bayoukeeper Tracy Kuhns was shot in late June 2010 when Bridge the Gulf visited some of the communities most immediately impacted by the BP oil disaster. LaTosha Brown, the newly appointed Director of the Gulf Coast Fund, and Derrick Evans, director of Turkey Creek Community Initiatives and an advisor to the Gulf Coast Fund, traveled across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama with a filmmaker.

Commercial Fishing Families of the Gulf Coast came together, for two days, in Biloxi and came to consensus on a number of issues related to the BP Oil/Dispersant Disaster that ultimately impact all of us.

University of South Florida says government tried to squelch their oil plume findings

The sole purpose of government is to protect the health and safety of it's citizens.  It seems as if, our government agencies are choosing to protect the wealth and profit of BP instead.    Our scientists need to maintain their independance, if we are to learn the true impacts of this oil/dispersant disaster on the Gulf of Mexico fisheries, ecosystem and citizens.  Funding for research should not come with strings attached nor pressure to quelch public information and education.
